Freshmen Seminar

It is now the end of the year and we have completed an intense journey learning about ourselves.

1. In at least one complete paragraph describe the importance of Freshmen Seminar.
                - Think about the study skills that you learned.
                - Think about how they ahve impacted your life.

2. Describe the importance of the Quantum Learning Keys.
                - Think about how you can apply them to your lives.

3. For 5 of the 8 keys, think of an example in your life where you used the keys.

4. Now, you are sophomores. Write an advice column for the incoming Freshmen.
                 - Think about all the things you wished you would have known at the beginning of the year.

Story Tales:

  - Being that you wrote a short story, if your life was to be a story (any type of story), what would be the title?
  - What type of character would you be and WHY? (ex: cat, dog, prince, princess, knight, monster, etc.)

Research Paper Articles

1. Revised Research Paper Topic:    Cell Phones and its Negative Effects

2. From the list below choose SIX ARTICLES (two from each of the three categories you will use in your paper) and read throught them.
    
                            - As you are reading these articles, you will gather important information that will help 
                               you  support your argument on the negative effects of cell phones.
3. Read the articles and create 9 note cards for the articles.
               - 3 summaries
               -  3 paraphrases
               - 3 quotes

                    - You are free to add any additional note cards for extra points on your research paper.

4.  Once you have gathered and completed your nine note cards, begin your thesis statements.

Fairy Godmother!

For the most part, most fairy tales include a fairy godmother who grants the protagonist one wish.

     - If you had a fairy godmother, what would you ask of her and why? Explain your answer.

Alternate Ending

The Penguin Publishing House has  received several pleads asking for a more pleasant ending. The publishing house has decided to re-create the ending for "The Birthmark" and has hired you to do it!

Assignment:
For this asisgnment you are to re-write the ending of the story. Be creative and write an alternate ending for Aylmer, Georgiana, and Aminadad.
       - You have the liberty to add as many details as you wish.
